Switching down to regular language arts

I took regular LA during ninth grade, advanced LA tenth, and im taking AP LA during eleventh grade. I have never liked LA, but I’ve gotten mostly Bs, and I could get an A this year. I’m trying to decide whether or not to switch down to regular LA during my senior year. Will this look like I’m being lazy considering I’ve gotten okay grades in LA throughout high school.

Short answer:
Yes.

Longer answer:
It depends. What are you planning on majoring in? What type of colleges are you applying to? Why specifically don’t you want to continue the class? What turns you off about LA?

There doesn’t really seem to be a good reason for you to drop the class level. Unless there’s something that’s really pushing you away from the topic, such as the work interfering with your primary field of interest(major), I would definitely stay where you are.

  • I would like to go t UT Austin, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, or the University of Washington, major in accounting, and minor in artificial intelligence.
  • I do not want to continue with the class because even though I can get good grades, I spend on average, close to an hour and a half on homework, and I spend much more time on out-of-class essays compared to my friends who usually get the same or better grades than me. Every so often in LA we will study a subject that I do like, but even for those assignments, I cannot get A's.
  • I would also like to take AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics senior year. I feel like if I spend a lot of time in LA, I won't be able to study for my math classes enough to get A's.
