Switching for IB?

I currently go to a school which does not offer the IB curriculum, though they offer various courses as AP (such as math 9 10, science 9 10, english all 4 years) but that's it.

I have the opportunity to go to a school which has the IB curriculum so I would enter in grade 11 so I could get the certificate.

My current school ranking is higher (has a better academic reputation) than the school that offers IB.

Will universities value IB much higher than AP? (I want to apply to extremely competitive universities)
What should I do?

Thanks!

You can’t go wrong either way

Universities value the hardest possible curriculum at the school that you attend. If you want to switch to another school to obtain the IB Diploma (what I assume you meant when you wrote “certificate”), then only do so if you actually see merit in the IB program and are interested in taking IB classes.

Stay at your school. Colleges compare you to people at your own school so you shouldn’t move to a lower-ranked school for the I.B. program.
