Switching from AP Chem to Intro. to Stoichiometry

D:

Good luck then, I guess (self-studying, I mean).

Your mom and dad are....meh, I won't bother.

Your school is pathetic to rate that class a 3, especially after reading the course description. It sounds alot easier than the stoichiometry unit in AP chem... yet....

Stoichiometry is a 2-3 week unit in AP Chem. so intro to stoichiometry would prolly be 1 week worth. It is absolutely ridiculous to stretch a mini-unit like that. Does your class memorize all the digits of avogadro's number and then have a test on it??

glad to hear ur making your life easier with the rest of your difficult classes. If your not happy taking a class or a specific class is making life hell, drop or switch to an easier class. Now you can sleep more :) Good move.

Just out of curiousity, does the teacher that teaches AP Chem at your school pull 4s and 5s? Because a 5 on the AP exam will definitely offset that C in that class. Colleges will be more likely to believe that the class was taught at an high standard, which is 100% better than having a 112% in AP Chem and making a 1 on the exam. (Yells 'grade inflation!' at 10,000 decibels)

i take honors chem and our last chapter was stoichiometry. by far the easiest tests ive taken all year. dump AP chem

You've got to keep us updated on the difficulty of intro stoich. That's seriously the largest math part of AP Chem.

Don't freak out about stoichiometry. I HATED it sophomore year and I couldn't figure it out at all. Now in AP Chem I have an awesome teacher and he completely changed how I see chemistry. Stoichiometry is really just factor labeling a balanced equation. If you ever need help with it just PM me.

Meh, AP chem gets so much harder than stoichiometry. So if stoichiometry is just too much, I would get out... but doesnt your school have a normal chemistry class or honors chem? That seems like a better option than intro to stoi***ometry.

I'm really anxious for this class to start tomorrow. I really don't know what to expect. It could be quite difficult.

Good for you! I'm glad you switched when you were obviously unhappy. Just make sure you work hard from the beginning in Stoich. It's really math based, and if that's not your thing, you'll have to be extra vigilant with tutoring, studying, whatever.

Wow, it was so stupid, at least for the first day..

Our first assignment is seriously "learn how to spell stoichiometry, 5 point quiz tomorrow."

The fact that there is even a class called "Intro to stoichiometry " makes me laugh.

Stoich is a joke if you are given straight forward information and asked to plug in numbers. It only gets hard when you're asked to think and figure out how to get the numbers that you need to plug in to solve the question. Some college Gen Chem courses are pretty much this and only this. However, considering this class is called INTRO to stoich, it will probably be a joke.

Still.....I'd rather get an A in this class than a C in AP Chem (unless you're confident u can get a 4 or 5 on the test).

HA, I'm the only person who has an A in the class.

Did any body else find it hilarious that the course description said it was for students with "a passion for...conversions". LOL WAT?

Guess the others in the class are bad spellers!

Everyone got 100% on the spelling quiz.

It got hard for a lot of people when we had to memorize where the alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, noble gases, and halogens were on the periodic table, and know a few of the characteristics.
People epically failed that test, but I got 120% because I responded to the Extra Credit essay: "Why are noble gases generally nonreactive?" as well as got all of the questions correct.
We just started talking about physical vs. chemical changes. What that has to do with stoichiometry is beyond me.

Dude this class sounds like a waste of time. It sounds way too easy, isn't there something else more worth your time?

ROFL. thats like switching from Honors Precalculus to "Introduction to Synthetic Division"

Bahahahahaha nice connection ChoklitRain.
