I've already been admitted to CAS but I'm considering switching to biomedical engineering because currently I want to do the pre-med path but I'm not too certain if I will end up going to med school.. So I thought about it and what would I do with a bio degree? I definitely don't want to go to grad school for it, do research, or be a teacher so.. do you guys think it would be smarter to do biomed engineering so I would have a back up career and could also follow the pre-med path to see if I want to go to med school?

The biggest problem with BME will be your GPA. Med schools are all about numbers, and engineers typically have lower GPAs. You can still get into med school, but it will definitely be tougher.

you don’t necessary have to major in biology to go to med school - although you do have to complete a pre med track of biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics etc.
