I am going to be a first year this year, and I was accepted into the college of arts and sciences, but now after more research I have found that I am very interested in the biomedical engineering program in SEAS. I know I am probably really behind in deciding this, but how hard is it to switch colleges at UVA? When would I be able to do it if i did decide to? Thanks for the help in advance!

You can, I just don't think you can right now. The switches are made in between academic years, so it is possible. However, getting into the biomed program, after transferring your second year, might be tough. You'll need to get as many pre-reqs done as possible. Look up the program on the SEAS site and aim to fullfill the chem/math/physics requirements. I suggest taking as many first and second year e-school required classes as you can, so when you switch, you can make up the restricted classes. Talk to your advisor and talk to the e-school office and ask them for help as well. They're your best resources

thanks for the reply. So does anyone else maybe have some general information about BME that I should know before I switch colleges? (i.e. what is the program like? Is it an extremely hard major? etc.)
