Switching from electrical to computer engineering?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I was admitted to UIUC for electrical engineering this year. Now I am thinking that I am more interested in computer engineering than electrical. If I were to attend next year, how easy would it be to switch? They're in the same department anyways. Would it even be possible to switch before the year started?</p>

<p>They are in the same department so it is easy to switch. Talk to a department advisor and see if its possible to do this right away. CS 173 and CS 225 give priority registration to Computer Engineering and Computer Science majors, so you want to switch before you take those classes.</p>
