I have a general question about Minors and Majors.
Say that you're looking at a program with a Major and you need to take classes A, B, C, D, and E. And then say you're looking at the same program, but its Minor instead. The classes for this minor are A, B, and C. If someone does all the requirements for the Minor, but then realizes during senior year that they have enough time to take the last two classes D and E for the major, can they switch?
The reason I'm confused is because I thought that you could only declare your stuff during your 2nd year? So, even if you have the Minor requirements, even if you can finish the rest during senior year, it'll be too late to declare?

No, you are expected to declare ‘some’ major by the end of second or start of third year, such that it is reasonable that you can complete a degree within the eight standard semesters, but you can change your mind and declare a different major later. All that constrains you is whether it is reasonable that you can finish. If you are in your seventh semester, but need only 2 classes to earn major Y, both of which are going to be taught the next semester, then it would be clear to the major advisors as well as the college of L&S that this makes sense and they would let you declare major Y replacing your prior declared major of X (or let you request a second major from L&S on your degree).

assuming it is not a capped major, just a major where you clearly meet the requirements (e.g. minimum GPA, pre-req classes, etc).
