Switching from Summer B to Fall

I was accepted to Summer 2017 and I was curious is there any way to change and start in the Fall?

Hopefully someone answers this, I want to switch from Fall to Summer B, lol. Look into Summer B, it has a lot of benefits.

I was accepted to Summer B but the majority of my friends are just starting in the Fall so I’d rather just start with the rest of them.

Contact UF on Monday and ask.

I’m pretty sure you can switch from Fall to Summer (madisonskipper) but they may not allow you to switch from Summer to Fall. Due to capacity concerns, UF wants more students to take summer classes, not less.

I’ve heard nothing but good things from the kids that take Summer B classes. It’s easier to make friends, less crowded and less stressful (VS hitting campus in late August with 50,000 other students…).

Good Luck!

Feeding off of what Gator88NE said, your best bet is to call.

But based off of personal experience, my summer B as a freshman was a great semester to start getting involved in organizations (especially since there’s less students on campus), meeting new people, and getting to know the campus more!

So after Summer B, you continue to study in the Fall semester?

^^yes.

You have to take so many summer credit hours anyway (every student) so there’s really no harm in starting the summer before first year (unless you have other plans).

My son didn’t do Summer B yet but probably will this summer so he can intern later.

To add on to what @SouthFloridaMom9 was saying, it looks like every UF student has to take at least 9 summer credit hours. So you could get them all done this summer by taking 3 classes in the 6 week Summer B period, which is what I’m trying to do if I can switch from Fall to Summer. Summer classes are not covered by bright futures (if you are from in-state), so consider that.

Also, I emailed about switching terms and got this really long standard email that basically said they won’t be able to let you know about term changes until late April/ early May. You shouldn’t be counting on your term changing if you’re going from Summer to Fall unless you have a financial or other serious issue with the summer term.

Three courses in Summer B would be pretty intense.

^^yes it would!
