Hi I’m a first year at UCLA and I really want to switch to UCSB (note I was accepted there but didn’t SIR) without applying as a transfer student. That sounded dumb but what I mean is it possible to apply for winter or spring quarter as a freshman when you’re already enrolled in another college? Also I checked the UCSB website and it said there was the option of appealing for winter quarter, but is that only for people who were rejected or are currently not going to college? Please help me I hate it here.
It is most likely you will have to apply as a transfer. You can talk to the GC at UCLA and see if you can withdraw NOW without any credit hours accumulating. Check with UCSB to see if that would allow you to retain your freshman application status.
Well I already took summer classes here so I don’t think I can be considered a first time freshman anymore…but I will check with SB anyway to see if the appeal thing will work out, but I’m not really optimistic
if it turns out you are not eligible to apply to UCSB as a frosh then you might want to consider enrolling at SBCC. See my post at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-santa-barbara/468098-backdoor-way-to-get-into-ucsb-p1.html
Summer school doesn’t count. Check with UCSB. But school is already started, you have to drop all of your classes.
The OP needs to get info about this from UC and not the internet community, but UC does say this:
Whether withdrawing now erases the fact he/she is currently enrolled at UC I don’t know.
