Hi, I am a student at a $8,000 per year, Private High School named Saint Peter's Prep and is located in Jersey City, NJ. I have been a student here for three years now and now am a entering senior. My brother has graduated this year and now this is the second sibling i have that is in college. My parents work day and night to pay off my eldest brothers college tuition and now have another upcoming college student in the house. On top of this they are paying for my Private School. I had asked my father if it's okay for me to just transfer to a public high school in the area for senior year mainly because not much goes on this year. The private school im attending though is well-known school and is rated as a 5-star school on greatschools.org. It is known for it's football team, Basketball team, Wrestling team (which i am a part of) and most of all known for its academics. The average GPA score in this school is roughly 3.6. Also, many colleges know much about this school and also see it as a great high school.

But to be honest im not the brightest student in this school mainly because of the competition this school sets out. I was planning on helping out my father with all the tuition he has to face by transferring to a public school for my senior year. the School i want to transfer to is a public school named Dickinson High school and honestly isn't the best of the schools. Not saying it is a bad school but isn't much when compared to St. Peter's Prep. I also know that if i transfer to this school my grades can definitely change drastically. This school is slightly less academically advanced when compared to St. Peter's prep.

I wanted to know if i transfer to the public school for my senior year, will this look bad for colleges and also if this would effect how colleges see me drastically. Please help and let me know if i should transfer and if there is anything i can do to make the transfer less hurtful on me when colleges see me.

Thank You Very Much
