I lost my one AP class as my counselor was making my schedule over the summer.I was moved down to regular although the hour where that one AP goes is still open (it is just a study hall). Is it possible that after school starts to move up into an AP course? Being that it is an AP class I don't know if that is possible or if you have to be there from the beginning to understand it/do well? Thanks!

It might be a little more work for you the first week or so, but I don’t think it should be too bad, especially if you join the class during the first two or three days.

I don’t see where that would be an issue. At my school, we can make any schedule changes within the first week. This year I switched a study hall to an extra AP class on the third day & it was no problem at all. If you really feel behind from missing out on the first couple lessons, talk to the teacher & I’m sure they’d help you get caught up.
The only thing that might be a problem is WHY the counselor moved you out of the AP class. If it was just a scheduling error (which it probably was) then it would be easy to move you back. However, the counselor may have moved you to regular because they were worried about your performance in the AP class. If that’s the case, just explain why you want to be in the more rigorous program & they should be able to move you back. Then again, it was probably just an oversight on their part. :)
