I'm planning to attend UCSD as a Human Bio major at Muir this fall, but I wanted to look into switching majors because I think that the Bioengineering major would give me a lot more opportunities after graduation in case I don't want to go to medical school as I do now. Does anyone have any information on how easy it would be to switch? Would the Bioengineering: Premedical major adequately prepare me for med school too? Thanks!

starting with the department’s website might be a good idea: [Overview | UC San Diego, Department of Bioengineering](http://www.be.ucsd.edu/undergraduate/programs)

Oh wow, my bad I just jumped right into researching the major so I totally missed that page. Thanks for letting me know :D

I thought Bioengineering: Premedical major no longer exist.

that is true. bioeng: premed will no longer be available to entering freshmen/transfer students starting fall 2010.
