switching lab internships... a bad thing?

Hi guys... so long story short, I've switched three lab internships within my high school career. The first one was apparently just "job shadowing". I knew nothing about working in a lab so I gained a ton of experience, but I wasn't "re-hired" since it was only a one-time thing.

Then, freshman to sophomore summer I worked under another lab by a referral from my previous mentor. Now, I am trying to undertake a project for my science fair. The professor I had during the summer referred me to her colleague and a Post Doc, who knows more about my project.

I'm just wondering if this is a bad thing. I am going to contact my professor I had during the summer and ask if she will let me in next year (she promised during one meeting, i remember). I will also try to work hard to that this current lab that she referred me to so I can perhaps work here during the summer.

Is it too much to work at two labs? Is it bad to switch around labs.

BTW... they were all under the same institution.

PS: sorry if this message confused you guys. If u need any clarification, please please let me know - I thank you guys so much advance!!!! (:

You are in high school. You are getting a sense of what is out there. I don’t think anyone is necessarily expecting you to find your life’s passion your freshman year of high school and stay put. I don’t think there is anything wrong with this. The fact that your are getting research experience in high school at all is something. Don’t stress about switching labs, imo.
