Switching Lanugages?

So I tested out of the 4 semsters of the language I took in high school, but I didn't really like it, so I signed up for German 101..completely new, and I'm not 100% sure about it..say next semster I decide I dont want to continue German, can I take the 5th semster of the one I tested out of and still get the retroactive credit? or do I have to take it 1st semester, or done before I take another language at UofM?

You are eligible to receive retro-active credit if:
1) You take a 5th-semester foreign language class and complete it with a B or better.
2) Don't have prior AP credits in that language.

This isn't high school anymore. You can take multiple classes in different languages at point during your Michigan career. The only requirement is to prove 4-semester proficiency in any given language, which you have already done. You may now take whatever language class you want and will be eligible for any retroactive credit you qualify for.
