My son (admitted ED 1) wants to do a different major than he had on his application - perhaps even look at moving into Olin Business from A&S. Is that possible before he starts school or should he sort that out with advisors once he gets there?
The BSBA program starts from day one, so if that is what he really, truly wants he needs to email admissions now and ask.
Agree. He needs to contact his admission officer and ask what is possible.
I don’t know the answer with regard to timing, so your S should just ask his AO. But, in general, WashU students can transfer easily between schools.

If he was admitted to A&S, he cannot change to Olin starting his freshman year. He can apply to transfer his sophomore year. To do so, he would need to complete the prerequistes.

I believe that you can change majors but not schools before starting your freshman year. Once started, you can do internal transfers – my son had several friends who did this during their time there. As for majors, my son was accepted ED1 as a PNP major but switched to pre-med before starting his freshman year. It was not a problem at all.
