Switching majors as a transfer student

Hello everyone! I was admitted into Davis’ economics major, but I was wondering if it is still possible to switch to Managerial Economics as a transfer student. Does anyone know what Davis’ policy is when it comes to this?

Also, in some other schools that I was accepted to, I was admitted as a Pre-major. Is it the same with UC Davis? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere in my acceptance letter. Could it be because I TAGed into UCD that I was admitted straight into the major? Anyway, thanks everyone!

Yes, you can switch majors as a transfer student. One of my former suitemates switched from the Biological Sciences major to the Animal Science major. ALL new students to UC Davis must wait until winter quarter to change their major, because switching majors is not allowed during your first quarter.

UC Davis does not have a pre-economics major. They have a pre-managerial economics major, as mentioned here[/url”>http://catalog.ucdavis.edu/programs/mecon/meconprog.html]here, but not a pre-economics major.
