I was accepted to cal poly as a business major , and I am also going to be a freshman, but have decided to switch my major to landscape architecture, or at least try. I know that I need to take 4 classes to become enrolled in this major. My question is, how hard will it be to get the classes, and if I do get the classes, how hard is it to switch majors? And do you think I will be able to switch by the first year? I might add that I have 3 relatives you have gone to cal poly for landscape arch, who would be willing to write letters of rec to the department. I do not mind how tedious it will be, I just don’t want to waste an entire year trying to switch and still not get in. Thanks!

If you want to make money stay in Business. People would be stoked to be in Orfalea. I think what you should do is take Landscape Architecture as a minor, and then contemplate studying Architecture in graduate school.

Trust me having the information you learn in your business major will someday help you in a career in whatever you choose to do.

Good Luck and if you do decide your set on switching to Landscape Architecture, you should contact your advisor and tell her immediately so that you can be set up with the right schedule.
