So I got into UCLA for Gender Studies because not all of my Psychology requirements were completed, but they will be by the end of the semester. I am really debating on going into UCLA because I want to double major in Psych and Communications. My GPA right now is a 3.95, and the lowest it will possibly go down to is a 3.75. I heard you can declare major changes at orientation, but the only three I am remotely interested in are Psych, Soc, and Comm. What are my chances? Please help, I am a transfer student, SIR is due this week. I care more about my major than the school.
I forgot to mention all the major reqs for the three majors will be finished.
I think Psych and Comm are impacted, so those might be a no-go. The only way you can really know is to contact the university.
You can’t change into psychology.
I’ll let you check online or contact the school for the other two.
Hmm, I wasn’t even allowed to take classes outside of my major during transfer orientation at UCLA. I ultimately withdrew from the university after this experience. The school just didn’t seem very flexible. If you’re fine with gender studies, I say go for it. My intended major mattered more to me than the school as well, so I went elsewhere.
@zettasyntax You can take other classes outside of your major. But to graduate on time and if you’re behind they advice you to stick to major classes
