Switching Majors - Bioengineering to EECS

Hello!

I was admitted to Cal's Bioengineering major, but now I'm rethinking that decision. Leaning towards EECS, but that could change in the future. I'm looking at the documentation for changing majors and the degree worksheets, and I'm a bit confused.

The two degree worksheets look to have very different lower division courses. Is it even possible to switch majors and still graduate in four years? Am I locked into bioengineering?

UCBAlumnus, thanks for your reply!

I have already read that page, the Change Major Application, the Degree Worksheets for both majors, and much of CC on switching in CoE. I’m not asking “how to switch,” but rather is it generally feasible and are people successful in switching?

It does seem that switching from bioengineering to some other engineering comes up several times from April to September (seems that bioengineering is more popular with applicants in high school than matriculating college frosh); you may want to PM the posters of last years’ threads to find out if they successfully changed to some other engineering major.
