Switching Majors?

I was admitted as a Health Science major, but now want to go into Pharmacy. The reason why I applied for Health Science in the first place was because I knew I wanted to work in health care, but was not exactly sure what career I wanted to pursue. After shadowing and talking to a few pharmacists, I feel that this is a field I want to get into. I know that Pharmacy is competitive just to be admitted to, so is it more competitive to transfer in? Any opinions are appreciated!

I’m pretty sure transfers are not allowed. You can try, I guess.

no transfers at all? then do you think it’s possible to give up my acceptance and apply regular decision?

[Northeastern University Undergraduate Admissions > Transfer Students > Prerequisite Coursework](http://www.northeastern.edu/admissions/transfer/prerequisite_.html)

“Please note that, due to limited space, we can no longer accept undergraduate transfer applications into the following majors:”

Pharmacy
Health Science
Physical Therapy

I think if you decline admission, you cannot reapply. That’s pure speculation though, I didn’t hear it from anyone.

Once in school, you can’t transfer into Pharmacy. So either give up the dream now, pick a different school, or call admissions and ask what your options are.

If you log into MyNEU portal, there is an option to switch majors under the self-service tab

Follow neuchimie’s advice. Definitely act on this right now if pharmacy is what you really want to do so that you can definitely go on that path, whether it be at Northeastern or elsewhere. Call and ask them directly so you get a straightforward answer.

thanks everyone who responded! so i took neuchimie’s advice and called admissions. They said that i could switch as long as my stats are comparable to the pharmacy majors who were just admitted EA. I find out in two weeks; my fingers are crossed!
