Let's say you get into a school and decide to switch your major. Reasonable right? But say you wanna switch to a very "competitive" major/program/school within that university (i.e. Stern at NYU, engineering at Berkeley, film at USC, etc.). Would they let you? I mean I don't see why they wouldn't if you've already been accepted to that university, but there were kids I'm sure who applied for that major and got rejected b/c they weren't as competitive with the other applicants.

You flat-out cannot switch into Stern; don't know about the other programs, but I don't think those restrictions are necessarily in place there.

enginnerring at UCR .......can you switch into that?

That's why I'm asking; and why can't you switch into Stern (or transfer is that's the more approrpriate term).

I'm so sorry, it appears you can. My mistake.

See this: http://admissions.nyu.edu/pdf/appprocess/2006/2006_NYU_Internal_Transfer_App.pdf

That's great that its offered but what is the likelihood of successfully transferring?

can you at UCR or no?

you can change majors in UCs. i'm very sure UCR would easily let you do it.

even from undecalred in the natural science to the enginnering?

it might be even easier to do it from undeclared, since undeclared is...well...undeclared xD. i've heard many students do NOT stick with their major. also, after freshman year, there should be a LOT of openings in majors granted that ucr is just like any other college where students dropout or transfer to another field themselves. for UCR, however, i wouldn't worry too much about transferring. it should be very feasible.
