When's the earliest we can start switching majors? do we need to wait a year or two, or can we switch right when we get there?

that was my question. i want to switch my major as an incoming freshman at Monmouth Uni. to Biology

this was addressed in another thread, but you can pretty much change your major as soon as you turn in your SIR, as long as you aren't switching into an impacted major.

ohh i found it. thankxz

where?? which thread?? what's SIR

it's the application form u fill out @ ucsd myapplications site. :)

You'll start getting generals out of the way first, so don't worry about exactly when you can switch your major. At some schools you have to apply to a major after you get there anyway, so what you put on your application isn't cast in stone, or even super important.

You don't have to declare any major until you've reached Junior Status (90 units); until then, just finish up GEs and take electives to get a feel as to what direction you want to take as the major change petition is messy and requires one to run around different colleges and major departments getting approval signatures.

Talked to a lady at admissions and she said that i can change it when i talk to my advisor in July

does anyone which majors are impacted??
