<p>hey guys, i dont know much about the school system in CSUs/Cal Poly.</p>
<p>I was wondering if it was possible to switch majors at cal poly, and if so how hard would it be? I applied for an engineering major that im not sure of and im thinking i might want to switch to another engineering field later on.</p>

<p>The one thing they emphasize on the campus tour about majors is how difficult it can be to change. Besides the fact that engineering is a highly competitive major, Cal Poly runs on an “upside down” curriculum, which means you begin taking major classes right away (the first two years is NOT just gen ed like most schools). Basically, switching to another major is hard because you will already be behind in the classes that are required.</p>
<p>It is not difficult to switch between majors in Engineering. The earlier you do it the easier it will be to graduate in a timely fashion. It is very difficult to switch from other majors into Engineering. There are many posts about this.</p>
