Switching Professors

So I was checking out my courses online, and I found a few of my professors. One of them has a really bad rating on ratemyprofessor.com; even one person said to run from him lol.

So I was wondering if it's possible to switch professors during the add/drop period?

You can switch sections as long as the section is still open.

Rate My Professors will give you a vague idea about your instructor, but it’s not a complete picture. So don’t worry too much if you can’t switch out.

I would second what rualm said. It’s very vague it could end up being your most favorite teacher, that happened to me last semester.

My favorite professor has overall rating of 2.1 on ratemyprofessors. Keep in mind that the people who write on ratemyprof are mostly the ones who have something to complain about the instructor because they couldn’t get the grade they wanted. The only exception to this is when a professor is so perfect that you feel obligated to go out of your way to publicly commend him by giving him a good rating.

In other words, ratemyprofessors.com is a piece of *****.

Don’t trust ratemyprofessors too much. I had professors with good ratings who turned out to be awful and professors with really bad ratings who turned out to be some of my favorite. It all comes down to how much effort and work you’re willing to put into earning the grade you want. And definitely making use of the tutoring centers/ office hours.
