I was randomly assigned roommates tolive in an apartment next year, but I can already tell that we won't get along too well (I'm more of a quiet studier andthey're party types), and I was wondering if it is possible to switch rooms or roommates at this point in the year or if it is possible at all? Thanks!

I would contact housing directly. Call them and discuss your issue.

What apartment is it?

I’ll be living in Rockoff. I thought maybe since it’s full of still-filling-up-with-waitlist-students, they’d be able to switch me within Rockoff? I dunno. I’ll call housing, then. I just don’t want to sound so full of complaints so early, haha. Plus, if they switch me to a set of roommates that ends up being the same or people I would me more likely not to get along with, I’d feel bad for causing so much trouble. :/

You can probably ask to be put back on a waitlist. Not sure what you’ll get but you might get more suitable roommates. I would call and explain; say you want to go back on the waitlist.

They said I can switch roommates by finding someone who will switch, and then having us both email. But nothing about going back on the waitlist because of the contract. =P

(So if anyone knows someone who might want to switch…)

Righthand I guess it depends on who you talk to. I’ve seen people post here that they were unhappy with their room assignment and they were given alternative options. So keep looking for a swap but if you actually experience problems once you are in the apartment, I’m sure you can be changed.

It’s kind of early to be saying you won’t like your roommates so they may not want to switch you yet.
