Switching schools for better grades?

I currently go to an independent school and I will probably end off this year with a 3.65 gpa(I’m a sophomore). I had a 3.2 last year. I am currently involved in a good amount of clubs and have a few leadership opportunities lined up for next year. I was given the option to switch to a less competitive school by my parents and I was wondering, should I sacrifice these leadership opportunities in order to go to a school where a higher gpa is more manageable? By the way I am taking all honors and plan on taking all AP courses next year.

It’d suck to leave my current school. I only have a few close friends here and the school I have an option to switch to has a grade that is about as small as my grade at my current school.(circa 80 people) By the way, I am finishing up my eagle scout outside of school and I am planning on getting a research internship next year.

No, a higher GPA at a weaker school is no solution to anything.Universities rate the high schools. They know which are more competitive and consider that fact.

lostaccount is pretty much dead on - You will get absolutely nothing from a higher GPA at a less challenging school. Stay put.

A few questions that matter:
1° do you find your school work and the academic pressure manageable? When you read the question, did you think “what did you mean, academic pressure?” Or do you wish that you could have the same friends, but without the pressure cooker?
2° do you sleep enough - at least 8 hours a night?
3° what schools are you aiming for?
4° is that other school also a private school?
