Switching Schools in Summer

I am about to start my fifth semester at a community college that does not really have a satisfactory amount of diversity when it comes to courses and majors. The reason I attended the school in the first place, was to pursue a degree in Information Technology. I got bored with the original major and switched to an English major, which I enjoy immensely. I want to transfer to a four year university after this semester. I would have to skip the spring semester of next year to better plan and prepare my family and myself for the change, but I do not want to go too long with a lull in my education. Could I transfer to a new school during the summer? If so, what hurdles would there be? Could I do so without an associate's degree in English? The majority of my classes have been transfer classes and I have done very well in all of them.

These are questions that you will need to ask the colleges/universities that you are applying to. Each of them will have their own policies about summer enrollment and transfer students.
