<p>I was recently admitted to rice for the mathematics major in the school of natural sciences. However, I have now realized that I would rather major in Statistics which is in the school of Engineering. I know that you are allowed to switch schools at Rice. I am wondering if this is a complicated process or not. Can I do it before classes start? Is there any disadvantage to starting in the school of natural sciences and then switching?</p>
<p>Yes. You are not admitted to a school but to Rice. You can switch anytime you want as many times as you want.</p>
<p>Other than the music school and architecture, you can major in anything.</p>
