switching schools

I've been admitted to the college of A&S with a merit scholarship of 16k/year. However, I've changed my mind, and now i want to go to Newhouse. Is there any way that I can switch my current place at A&S for a place at Newhouse before freshman year begins?

No. You have to wait until you have completed 30 credits

when will i complete 30 credits? also, do i have to fulfill a GPA requirement to switch after 30 credits?

After your first year you should have at least 30 credits. Selection now goes completely by GPA. They'll take about 150 students starting with the highest GPA.

The assistant admissions director mentioned that Newhouse is the hardest school to transfer into, and you need to keep a minimum of a 3.5 gpa. Work hard; good luck!

I was able to successfully transfer from VPA into Newhouse when I went to SU a few years back. When I was there GPA was the only thing they looked at for transfers so study hard your freshman year!
