Switching Sports Junior Year?????

Hi,
Ive played volleyball freshman and sophomore year on the JV team. I am really interested in badminton, and if i make the team i would be on varsity which i would make JV only for volleyball this year. Im wondering if it looks bad to colleges to change sports mid-way through high school because it could show that you’re uncommitted. Does it look ok to highly selective colleges to just switch sports or would it be better to not play anything at all rather than switch to badminton (I pretty sure i do not want to play volleyball).
Thanks so much

Just do what you want! It’s sad kids think they should pick “extra curricular” (supposedly outside of school) activities based on what colleges think.

It’s not uncommon at my kids’ school for students to change sports after Sophomore yesterday. It usually means they couldn’t make Varsity after a few years at JV.

But seriously, please just enjoy your life! Do what you want and have fun!

It’s fine. @astro77 is correct.

Thanks for the Advice!

If you are not going to be a recruited athlete, then sports are just another EC.
