Hello! I am a high school senior looking at tulane. its definitly my top choice. I have applied EA but wanted to switch to ed2. Can i switch after i see my ea decision or does it matter? If i get denied, not deferred, for EA will i still be able to switch to ED2? Also how lienant is tulanes ED policy? if i cant afford the school will they let me back out of ED? some schools let you do that
@yoelijah Students who are deferred from Early Action are welcome to switch their application type to ED. However, an acceptance or a denial is a final decision so students who receive either of those decisions would be unable to switch to EDII after the EA release date.
When a student applies ED, they are giving their word that they are committed to attending Tulane regardless of their financial package. Tulane obviously doesn’t want to put a family into an impossible situation financially, and if circumstances change and a student who applied Early Decision is no longer able to afford Tulane, then they can discuss with their specific admission counselor about being released from that contract; however, it is them going against their word!
