Switching to International Business?

I was part of the early batch of acceptances for regular decision, and I got in as an Economics major. I've recently started thinking that I would like to enter the international business program, concentrating in Marketing or Finance and Insurance. I had a few questions, namely:
1. Can I see if I can change majors before I commit to going to Northeastern?
2. Is it extremely unlikely that I will be able to switch? (Does it help that I'm trying to do so now, while it's still early?)
3. Will they look at stats when deciding if they will allow me, or is it more first-come-first-serve?
Any other random insights about the program are welcome, too.

Thanks all in advance!

It’s easy and requires no extra materials. I switched from Biology into Health Science before I committed.

 1. Log into your MyNEU account
 2. Click on the Self Service tab(iirc)
 3. Click on the change of major request link
 4. Write a very brief explanation as to why you decided to change majors.

It says you’ll get a response in 3 days, but it took longer for me(5 days) because I submitted it over the weekend.

Also, do you know if this is the same for students that want to change college as well? I am planning on transferring from media arts and design to the college of engineering…

I’m pretty sure you would do the same thing, but Engineering is quite competitive. It’s a case by case basis, so it’s possible you will be denied.

Never hurts to try! Good luck.

Thanks bgwhite! I hope I get in :x

Thanks for the info, bgwhite! Did they notify you by e-mail?

Yes, an email was sent to my regular email address, not the NEU email for students.
