I was wondering if it is possible to be a competitive med school applicant if I were to start taking premed courses (i.e. gen chem/bio) sophomore year. This would mean taking orgo junior year for me. Assuming I have a good gpa/LOR/research/mcats, would it be possible to go a top med school? Would I be at any disadvantage? I go to top-10 school now, and I am not majoring in chem/bio/physics, if that makes any difference.

Yes you can still be competitive.
