Switching to public school as c/o 2010?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a problem I have. I am a rising senior, and have been homeschooled since 3rd grade. Since around 8th or 9th grade I have wanted to go back to public school as the natural need to socialize set in, but I have always had enough extracurriculars to keep me atleast partly satisfied. Now I am involved with a very close-knit group of friends in the high school I am zoned to, that are all graduating c/o 2010 as well, and I really want to be close to but really can't as it is now. I have done pretty well in my academics, (4.0 uw, 31 ACT) so I think I would be ok switching from homeschool to public school for my senior year, but my parents don't believe I would be able to adjust quickly enough and my grades would suffer. Can anybody who recently graduated or maybe another rising senior give me any help with arguments to give my parents? They destroy me in arguments because they only think I want to hang and go to more parties, but it is much deeper than that to me, I want to belong to a graduating class and I don't want to watch all my friends graduate as the closest class there and not be a part of it.

Most people say senior year is the easiest year because it is filled with a lot of fun things. If you weren’t to take an extremely hard schedule, I think you’d be fine. And wanting to have a real high school experience with friends is a valid reason. You probably want good memories, in an actual school, to look back on.

If I were you, I’d want to have those memories, and make the switch to public school.

Also, if you plan on going to college (Which I’m sure you are) you will be a lot more prepared, I think, if you have went to an actual school.
