syllabus

i googled "book used for che 106 at SU" and i found a syllablus from Prof. Vincow.

Im taking che 106 this year and i thought would it be a good idea to get this book now on amazon?

should i keep doing this for other subjects?

I say wait until you get to campus. Required textbooks change every few years, and some professors might not even utilize certain "required" books.

*** this site wasn't working earlier, but now it is. you can find required books here: bookweb.syr.edu.

click on Textbooks Online! in the top left corner.

i tried. thanks.

I have not gotten my schedule yet and it is not on MySlice yet. I have an idea of the courses that I will take but I can't find out the specific texts using the Textbooks Online link from above. I think Folletts Bookstore on Marshall Street has alot of used books . But even their website... College Books, College Textbooks, eBooks : www.syracuse.orange.bkstr.com
......
still has the summer texts listed.
When do the schedules/profs come out and I hope they do in time to go through Amazon or Folletts before the 1st day of clesses.

Unfortunately, even when you get your schedule, you still might not know exactly what books to get. It's not always posted online, and old syllabi aren't always reliable. It's stupid, but most of the time you have to physically go into the bookstore and look around for your classes. For some classes, you don't need your books for the first days, so it's not a big deal. But you can always buy the book to keep while you wait for you online order, then return them (if they aren't shrink-wrapped).

You guys should be getting schedules posted on myslice soon; just keep checking.

P.S. - Don't worry about not having time to go to Follett's; it's just down the street. I recommend that you compare prices between Follett's and SU, beacuse one is not always cheaper than the other. PLUS, professors sometimes pass out coupons on the first day of class, so you might end up making returns to save 15 bucks or so.
