Syracuse Admissions Decisions

got accepted to whitman yesterday. applied RD

Well, there goes my theory. Haha.

Anyone want to share any stats?

Accepted to Architecture on Feb. 25th

SAT
Reasoning: 2160
Math II: 750
Physics: 800

TOEFL: 107

GPA: 3.8 unweighted
Private school, top in the province, international

Portfolio: 13 pieces

Hope this helps!

School: Martin J Whitman
SAT I: 1840
GPA: 3.3-3.4UW

I was accepted to Newhouse two days ago.

Dual program: College of Arts & Sciences + Newhouse School of Communications
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.5 UW

Hmm…interesting. I applied to Newhouse RD as well - i wonder why i haven’t heard anything yet?

Maybe because i’m a transfer…

@skazu27 - i’m just curious, but are you an international applicant or no?

forgot to state where im from. Im not an international applicant. From Los Angeles, CA.

Maybe they’re doing non-NY or non-Northeast acceptances first.

VF that’s what i was thinking too lol, i saw the Syracuse 2014 facebook group and everyone’s like “i’m from LA! or i’m from chicago!” hopefully us new enganders will hear back very soon : )

If the reps from other parts of the country decided to notify their admittees, they definitely jumped the gun…sit tight; tomorrow is March 1st; all applicants should start hearing by Friday, the 12th (beginning of spring break at SU)…

has anyone from the East Coast heard yet? is it possible that SU notified people far away first so they would have time to make arrangements to attend Accepted Student Days in April?? it’s a possibility…

Sorry to dispel the theory, but my son and his classmates who applied all heard on Friday - we live in Massachusetts.

Perhaps they are waiitng on mid year reports or tax returns - or perhaps it comes in waves, not sure.

^^yes, it does usually come in waves, mum, but usually not this early…

I’m from Northern California and i haven’t been notified. So, that theory is wrong.

Plus the theory that they are doing it school by school is wrong because the school i applied to has already sent out notification.

I think its going International and Freshman, then Transfer. I haven’t heard of any transfer students being accepted yet.

Although, when i log into “MySlice” i see this:

Admission Acceptance Form
Click this link to access and complete the form required to accept our offer of admission.

When i click it it says “Not available at this time”

Any denials yet???

i’m going to sound like an ignoramus here but what is myslice? i’ve heard of everyone “logging in” to myslice but i don’t think i’ve gotten any notification of a username/password that would let me log into it. i’ve only gotten an ID that let me check if i got all my application materials in

@runnergirl

I just figured it out like 2 days ago, so don’t fret. Look through your email and try to find like a financial aid document and right above or below your name it should have a SUID.

Then go to myslice.syr.edu and “activate your account”

Yea, that’s what my MySlice does too erik.

I guess I’ll just have to sit tight and wait it out. I have no concerns about getting into Whitman, it’s Newhouse I’m anxious about! I was just confused because I was told this:

“Notification begins mid-March and I believe (but can’t guarantee) that you will be included in the first round.”

@VF

Are you freshman or transfer?
