Syracuse Admissions Decisions

oh awesome! thanks erik, i would have never figured that out myself haha

I’m freshman.

So yeah I applied on time, but gave my 2nd recommendation later. I also did my Fafsa and Css after the deadline :(. I don’t know how that will affect me. Just recently I decided SU to be my first choice and I submitted my mid year, fafsa, and css asap. I’m just worried that I won’t get enough aid now. They recently just asked me to submit the collegeboard IDOC. Is that a good sign? Does that mean they accepted me? Does that mean I will get sufficient aid?

im from chicago and have yet to hear! also the mid year you guys are talking about- do you mean senior year grade form? that was my first quarter grades and when i called admissions thats what they wanted. is that what you all sent?

^^^ Yes. I used commonapp so it’s considered midyear.

@Deuce123- My dad called Financial Aid yesterday and apparntly they asked all freshman for it.
Btw congrats to everyone that got in!

Does anyone know how to find your id number? I don’t have it on anything they emialed me

@Shesthesummer, that really made my day, but I still haven’t received the acceptance letter :frowning: Let’s hope your right. If so, I’m definitely going to go :D. I’m not even that far away from there. I’m in Queens, NY.

I got accepted into the dual program of CAS and Newhouse
i’m from colorado

My D is anxiously waiting to hear from the Whitman school. Can someone tell me what IDOC is?? and did everyone hear via email?
Thanks!

Yankeefan, I didn’t think we had received a myslice number either. It came on a letter from the Financial Aid department that explained how to set up an account to check fin aid status. My daughter had received the letter shortly after applying and we had put it aside. You could always call admissions and ask for it if you can’t find the letter.

IDOC is a service offered by Collegeboard. They basically act as a clearing house for your tax returns and W2s and they verify what you have entered on your FAFSA and CSS Profile. This eliminates the need for the colleges to sort through all the tax returns and do the verification themslves. We have not been asked to supply our documents to IDOC for Syracuse, but probably because we had already done so for other colleges my son applied to and they have our returns already on record at Collegeboard.

Also, you should have a SUID number in an email from SU - it is also on all the letters they send you. Once you have that number you can go in and set up a MYslice account.

Hi Everyone!

I’m from MA and just received official confirmation through the mail of my acceptance! So excited. I was wondering if anyone received any scholarships…? I was reading through the letter and there was no mention of any scholarships…which got me worried since Syracuse was one of my safetys. So…any takers?

Thanks Guys! =)

thecontinent,

they send the scholarship notifications and the honors invitation later, my daughter got hers sometime in April last year.

How is who is accepted in each wave determined?

I have no idea wanttogo, I’m completely baffled myself by this super-early notification.

CONGRATS to those people who were already accepted!!!
Would you mind posting your GPA and SAT, so we can have a general idea of what the admissions office is looking for this year?!?
Thanks and once again, congratulations!

This thread is from February of 2009. Started new thread for RD under "Official RD Syracuse University Class of 2014.

I got my net id and password for myslice. Does anyone know how to check through that?

but most of the notifications haven’t gone out yet. there is a way to check your admissions status through myslice but they will email you and tell you when it is ready.
