Syracuse Admissions Decisions

Is there any chance they’re notifying by specific major? Because I know a lot of people have heard about Newhouse, but I haven’t heard of anyone admitted to the photography program RD yet.

They arnt doing it by school. I applied to Newhouse and haven’t gotten a decision yet. I don’t think there is a method to their madness.

I got in! I got mine last friday 2/26. I got into the dual program of Newhouse and Arts & Sciences. Yay :]

Submitted CSS and FAFSA on time here. Have not yet been accepted nor asked to provide IDOC, should I be worried about that yet?

I’m an international student applying as a transfer… do international students have better chances of getting in? Since they might be aiming for diversity?

Do they actually post admissions decisions online or just send out packets?

i definitely don’t think there is any kind of formula to the way that SU sends out the acceptances, especially since they are not rolling admissions and people from all the different schools are getting accepted and denied. Good luck to everyone! and even though the wait sucks we will all know by the end of march!

I was accepted a little over a week ago into the college of arts and sciences! I got my acceptance packet in the mail a few days ago. I’m from Pennsylvania  Also in the packet it says I was invited to some sciences, mathematics, and engineering symposium the day before accepted students day for cas. Congrats to everyone else who was accepted!

Ahh, so someone said all freshmen have to fill out the IDOC, but I wasn’t asked for it. I haven’t gotten an admissions decision yet…

ACCEPTED

College of Arts and Science Biology Program
GPA: 90.6%
Rank: 90/350
SAT: 1330/2010
SAT II: Biology: 680; Math II: 740; Math I: 650

i also havent been asked for the IDOC, but I’m not sure Syracuse requires it

I contacted the financial aid office and they said that I haven’t received the IDOC notification because my FAFSA/CSS profile had not been selected for review yet.

darn… that doesnt sound too good

I submitted my IDOC and all my application credentials. The IDOC got there today. I’m waiting for the response for my admission decision and financial aid. I hope I get it the 15th when I come home. I’m more worried about the Financial Aid than admission.

We have not been asked for IDOC and my son was accepted so I really do not think it has anything to do with whether or not you will be accepted. Maybe just whether or not you are being considered for financial aid based on your FAFSA and Profile.

I’m a little nervous about the IDOC now. When I filled out the FAFSA I was automatically asked to send in the IDOC for Northwestern, but I haven’t been asked (automatically or otherwise) by Syracuse.

My EFC is 0, so I would think they would need it to verify everything on the FAFSA. If anyone can help me out with any info or thoughts on this, it would really ease my nerves. :)

What is this IDOC everyone is talking about? Is it some requirement for admission?

It’s just a form you have to fill out for financial aid…I think…I filled it out for NU, but now I don’t even remember what it was like. Haha.

IDOC is a tax document handling service through collegeboard. Many colleges want you to send your documents to IDOC so that they do not have to handle tax returns, W2’s etc. These “member” colleges state that specifically on their website. My son sent his documents to IDOC for three of his colleges, but Syracuse has not required them as of yet. SU may be only using IDOC in cases when they feel verification is needed. If it is required for you, you will recieve a communication from SU or IDOC on how to access the site, print out the necessary forms and specific instructions on what needs to be mailed and in what fashion. They are very specific - no folding, no staples etc…

If you have not been asked to use IDOC, then do not worry about it.

The suspense is killing me!
