Syracuse Admissions Decisions

We have not heard yet. ...... GRRRRRR...... Anxiously awaiting and hopeful of positive news.

Has anyone gotten merit scholarships? Please post amount and stats.

Thanks and congrats to all who have already gotten in.

Nothing here for my son (Art & Sciences - Freshman). My D had applied 2 years ago for VPA. I just checked and her letter was dated March 8th. At that time there wasn't any email notificaton.

Thanks House of London. I have heard Northwestern and Missouri were great programs. He didn't apply to either one of those schools, but he was accepted to USC Annenberg and Newhouse. Both are great schools and have their pros and cons for my son.

I do know that Newhouse has an awesome reputation in the industry nationwide, he did an internship with Fox Sports and got nothing but rave reviews regarding Newhouse.

Thanks Again!

I was admitted by the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, Finance program. But has any of you received anything related to scholarship? Doesn't Syracuse consider merit-based scholarship automatically?

00 when did you hear??

I'm really anxious. I am going out of town next week so I'll have to wait until my mother goes and gets the mail which she holds while we are out of town. My first choice was Newhouse, second was arts and sciences. (:

Elbie, Will you have access to your email? From what people have posted, they send out an email first.

Good luck!

Just to keep everyone hopeful, if you haven't received an email yet, yesterday in the transfer chat they said they will be sending the next set out in 2 weeks, and then weekly after that. They had gotten a lot of completed applications early on which is why they were able to send out so many early notifications, but now the rest of us will be waiting two more weeks.

There are still spaces open for Transfers in Newhouse and the schools of Art and Science as well.

I will have e-mail and the e-mail notification will be a relief.

Wait. What do you mean? Do you mean that Newhouse is full for undergrad? I'm so confused.

I think people are "mixing apples and oranges" on this thread. Some people are talking about TRANSFER notification and some are taking about FRESHMAN ADMISSION notification. That's the source of the confusion.

My S is a freshman at Newhouse in Broadcast Journalism. He is very happy with the school so far. Pro: He spends a lot of time nights and weekends on the campus radio and tv station, with his friends. In one of his academic classes in the fall, a professor noticed he
needed extra help in writing and offered to do an independent study with him this spring.
He loves sports and goes to a lot of football/basketball games also.
Cons: the food.
Pm me if you need more info.

I just got into Syracuse University Prelaw. Yay! I am from IL btw.

never liked prelaw as a major, most law schools dont like it. its just basically liberal arts. i would end up changing your major to english or philosophy, just my 2 cents

has any freshman applicants heard back from Syracuse yet?

Yeah. I haven't though. We should be hearing back soon, though. March 15th, they start sending out a lot but I think they sound out before as well.

alright because i didn't hear back and was wondering if i should be worried

No worries we're good, according to collegeboard rolling admissions notification begins on March 15th. So we can either get a decision in mid March or late March. I'm sure they sound out some acceptances before that, but I'm willing to bet that those are to the most outstanding applicants in the pool.

yeah man i still didnt get myn yet either =(...the anticipations killing me

Same here man, it sucks that the only school that I really care about is the only one that I've yet to hear back from. I'm pretty excited and nervous all at the same time. Hope it works out for the both of us.

OMG I really am getting nervous because like Knight this really is the only school that I really want to go to and it is the only one I haven't heard back from
