Syracuse Admissions Decisions

woody, i am pretty sure it is only for the first year

My guidance counselor just got off the phone with admissions and they said do not worry if you have not heard. Acceptances and declines are being sent out almost daily and will continue until the end of the month.

really…because under thread “next batch” they said the announcements come out weekly which is also the impression i was under

Ya, I said in another post that the guidance counselor said “processing daily” but that may not mean sent in email form daily. I tried to get a hold of him to clarify, but he left for the day. The important thing to us is that they said definitely not to worry if you had not heard, it is not a sign that you did not get in.

I got my email on Friday and my packet came in the mail today!
Has anyone heard anything about admittance in the Honors program?

padfootblack, i think they will send out the invitations after all the rd acceptances?

My mail was held over my vacation and I looked in it. Nothing yet but if you heard Friday, I should get my mail by today or in a few days. I’m not too worried. I’m so excited. This is my top school. I’m just hoping my parents will see eye to eye that Syracuse is my dream school in my dream state. I’m happy because I’ll be spending quite a few of my holidays in NYC, probably one of my favorite cities on earth (other than San Francisco or London). I’m just hoping that I get to go. I have to humor my parents in considering two others schools (CU-Boulder and Purdue. Also, humoring them about University of Kansas and UTK will probably happen too).

so should i not expect an email until friday? or could i expect an email today perhaps? what time does the email typically come?

I just got off the phone with the syracuse admissions office and i asked if admission decisions would be going out daily or week by week and they replied week by week, every friday so it looks like we wont be hearing for a few days…ugh im so nervous, the only school im waiting to hear back from and its the school i really want to go to. How is everyone holding up with the wait?

I can’t believe they would do it week by week, that’s crazy…they should be doing it continuously…as most schools do when they release decisions, particularly online through email…I guess we have to continue to wait…oh well :(

that’s weird…how come some people in our school were saying that they got the acceptance yesterday???
i don’t know now…seems like syracuse really accept some students with low SAT…like 1500…omg…

its not so bad that the sat scores were a bit lower this year for the accepted class, it may provide a good opportunity to bring some diversity into the school, like kids who have a strong application in other areas besides their test scores

That actually makes me mad if a person who received a 1510 on their SATs was admitted already and i received a 1830 and still have yet to hear back it makes me question why i worked so hard in high school to get good grades. If i am not admitted i would be extremely disappointed.

seriously same here… i got a 31 ACT and i still havent heard back… and some kid with a 1510 did… thats kinda annoying…

like im not saying that an 1830 is “amazing” im just saying its a whole lot better than a 1510 and i havent heard back ugh so frustrating

anyone accpeted into whitman?

You guys, I’m sure it’s by reception or random. I got a 26 on the ACT, have a 3.615 GPA, did not submit SATs, had GREAT essays, have GREAT ECs. No need to be snotty about people who got in and have “lesser” scores and GPA’s than you. Colleges have their own systems of admission. Calm down.

Well said elbie09.

I know i shouldn’t have said what I said i guess i just want to be admitted so badly

Oh no, you weren’t who I was talking to. But I know the feeling. I had been waiting and waiting impatiently. That’s understandable.

There are some people who are just really hoity-toity about waiting and other applicants.

I wish you lots of good luck! (;
