Syracuse Architecture v. Tulane Architecture

I just plain can't decide between the two. The biggest pulls for Syracuse are the location (far from home, beautiful) and it's excellent Arch/design department, but the city is crummy--although I love New York. Tulane is better overall, but it's Arch program isn't as good, and it's only 6 hrs away from home with hot, humid weather (in a great city, though). They both gave me about the same financial aid package. What do you think, guys?

If you live only 6 hours away from Tulane, then you are probably in either a warm or at least temperate place. We have relatives who live in Syracuse and you need to realize they are only a short drive away from Niagra Falls, ie, it is really really close to Canada and has similar weather. Winter is plenty harsh, plenty cold, and more than plenty snow, for months on end. You need to be deeply in love with snow and brutal cold temperatures to enjoy living there. On the other hand, as an architecture student you will be living at your desk in the arch lab, even sleeping next to it more often than you think, so you won't actually be outside in the weather that often so maybe it won't be a problem.

BTW our relatives love the city and are big Syracuse sports fans. There is supposedly a good party life there too.
