just saw your like lmao
My son BFA acting heard today.
If you don’t mind me asking, was he accepted? My daughter is waiting to hear for the BFA acting program and didn’t get an email today. Not sure if that means she’s waitlisted or rejected.
I learned that the most important part of the application process comes down to the essay’s. My daughter didn’t visit the school, interview or send e-mails and thank you cards. My daughters essay’s were amazing and her focus. Ultimately, Syracuse extended her an offer with 2 scholarships. The stress involved with the application process is extremely painful. The cost to attend college is over the top.
I don’t think I’ve seen a music person in here yet, instrumental or voice. Has anyone in here, applying for performance or music education gotten an acceptance/email today?
Forgot to post stats earlier
Accepted (5:22 PM EST) to Newhouse
SAT: 1390 Superscored, 1360 Highest
GPA: 93/100 w (school doesn’t do uw)
7 APs, 4 DEs, 5 Honors, Good and Unique essays, Decent Extra Curriculars, also got an A in SUPA English and had a lot of demonstrated interest
@Lawmom2021 how did you learn about the Scholarship? Financial Aid email or acceptance email.
hi. So I called two weeks ago and they said I would get a decision this week. I haven’t gotten an email. But on my NetPortal I see Accepted Admission Decision Form. Anyone know what that means?
My D spent an enormous amount of time on the essays too. I thought they were fabulous, perhaps they thought otherwise. Ultimately, this year is a crapshoot because of the enormous amount of applicants. Everything has a way of working out in the end, but it is certainly an upsetting and stressful process.
@tayswizzle, same. Just a $2300 work study grant plus some loans.
The merit scholarship was in her acceptance letter. She then received an email about logging in to view the remainder of the financial aid package.
@USNY2004 was your $15000 a year in your acceptance letter? So bummed my daughter didn’t get merit. She got in and got a Grant. She’s a 3.9+ UW 4.2 W with lots of volunteer work and EC - took some APs but is a cancer survivor so didn’t take an aggressive course load freshman/sophomore year. I thought her essays were awesome. It’s her top
Choice but we can’t afford the tuition with out some merit.
Yes my merit was in my letter. Sorry to hear about your disappointment, but you can always appeal. I need more money as well, as I have not heard about any grants/loans.
I was accepted today to Whitman as well with no merit scholarship but with a grant. I don’t understand the process at all. My stats are 4.2, 4 AP classes, 3college courses, 2 Syracuse college classes, varsity team for 4years, extra curr and community service. My friend who was accepted today at Whitman got a 20,000 scholarship and she has a W 94 gpa. Makes no sense. Try to appeal. Good luck
How does one appeal? Is there a form or should we just email or call them?
@sammie05 Great stats. You’re right. It doesn’t make sense.
yes , got it… admitted
rip for what program?
Has any of the need based aid been determined yet? I remember the estimate on their site using her css file was down to around 10k/yr bc of some need based aid it showed she should qualify for.
D got a 10k deans scholarship in the letter with their merit aid but our efc is 0 and its not even showing loans, pell, etc.
Im hoping maybe it just hasnt been fully determined yet but i really dont know.
We have not received anything from FA itself, just whats shown when you click on my aid.
I haven’t received anything other than merit yet either. If the financial aid office did not email you that your financial aid was out, they have not released it yet.
