Thanks!

He will not be enrolling at SU, but best wishes to those that do! Wonderful school that he really loved, but heā€™s received other full scholarship opportunities at fantastic schools that, with Syracuseā€™s remaining costs, led him away from SU.

Good news is that across schools, process is almost over for our 22 grads and theyā€™ll know from every school soon - truly best of luck to everyone still in process!

what was his major going to be? Just curious

I have been checking every day since someone mentioned that their portal changed just before acceptance notification. It definitely did NOT say that yesterday!

I called admissions yesterday and was told they will be releasing some decisions today but it could take up to two weeks for them all to come out.

Hi all,
Just to add to the portal astrology work happening here, my sonā€™s portal now looks like this above screen shot as well. He has not yet been admitted and Iā€™m not sure when this changed as I think this is the first time Iā€™ve checked it. For his major, his stats are far above average so we do consider this to be a likely admit and we are not expecting any need-based financial aid. Hope this helps and good luck to all! At least this will all be over in the next few weeks

Clearly changed today, would be great to know if anyone who didnā€™t get accepted had the portal changed too.

My daughter reached out to her AO with an award update earlier this week and the AO said she can expect to hear about her admissions decision in the next few days. Her financial aid also changed to 2023; however, she has not applied for financial aid so I am wondering if that is an overall update for the portal. Regardless, good luck to all!

If you donā€™t mind sharing, where is he going? I am sure he got into many schools with those stats!

Sounds like it might just be a portal update since they are releasing some today.

Unsure, but the list is finally shrinking! :grinning:

Heā€™s very interested in attending as part of an Honors College and is currently deciding between UofMaryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Va Tech and is waiting to hear from UMich and Uof Rochester

Out of curiosity, my kidā€™s top choices are Ohio State, Syracuse, and IL at this point. Wish she would consider Michigan State since they gave $! Did Ohio state give merit? This is the only school that did not so far and she got accepted to the scholars program. We were very disappointed and a little shocked to be honest.

I am surprised too since most schoolsā€™ scholarā€™s programs automatically comes with a scholarship.

Sounds like a lot of overlap! Sorry to hear that - it definitely feels like some decisions make less sense than others throughout the process. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s a method behind the madness, but sometimes itā€™s hard to figure it out, for sure!

Weā€™re OOS for OSU and he did receive a generous merit aid package, so itā€™s hanging in thereā€¦will be interesting to see how it all falls out!

Not this school. We saw kids who were second in their class out of 700 who did not.

We are OOS and received zero merit ! I assume your kid submitted a test score ? We think thatā€™s why she did not receive merit. We were at least hoping for the Buckeye. And yet itā€™s still at the top of her choices. Ugh

Same! I wish I had paid closer attention to what the portal looked like before!

Donā€™t give up hope yet. Things are so odd this year. My daughter eliminated U of South Carolina because she didnā€™t receive any merit with her initial admission, while lots of other students did. We figured it wasnā€™t coming, so she set the school aside. When we visited Clemson, we decided not to even bother visiting UofSC because of the absence of merit $. Well, last week she received a $40k+ scholarship (over 4 years). Sadly, she has already moved on. I wish we had known earlier, but now I know that sometimes the merit offers trickle in later. So, keep the faith on OSU!

Trust me, we have called several times. They said once you receive your Financial aid offer, thatā€™s final and you didnā€™t receive Merit. They sent out the last letters March 2. Some schools will negotiate and Ohio State said thereā€™s no negotiation.
