Hey I can’t really help with the score situation, but I just wanted to wish everyone luck! I’m applying ED to Newhouse TRF/iSchool, and I, like everyone, am really excited/nervous about the decision. With all that said, my school works on a semester by semester basis, meaning that your grades do not even count until the semester is over, so theres literally no way for me to send in senior grades, so I feel they don’t really need them.

What was your score range? If you feel comfortable saying that.

@embenjamin thanks! Good luck to you too! When did you submit your app? My schools works on a semester to semester basis as well and my counselor literally just took a screenshot of our online grades I had at the moment and sent it to them. I’m pretty sure my situation was weird because they specifically asked my counselor and I for them/

@dreamingofcuse96 Which college in Syracuse are you applying to?

@xobrianna21 my October scores were a 1500c but I have invested a lot of time into studying for this weekends test. So I hope to receive a 1700. @embenjamin good luck to you as well! What are your stats for high school? If you don’t mind me asking

I submitted mine like November 13th, so just in time to be before the first deadline. There is a chance my counselor sent in my current grades, but if so I haven’t been told

Score was a 1500* lol

I know my stats are very low, I’m setting myself up for disappointment

Hi everyone! I applied ED to Whitman. I know Syracuse requires three years of a foreign language but I go to a technical school and they only offer a foreign language for juniors and seniors, so i only have two years…Is that going to affect my chances of getting in or will they consider the fact that my school only offers Spanish I and Spanish II?

But then again, maybe my essay will give me a shot

@xxHockeyGirlxx I feel like they evaluate people within the context of their school, so it would be odd if they held that against you. With that said, it’d probably be wise to put that in your application somewhere, or to send them an email letting them know

@xxHockeyGirlxx I’m in a really similar situation to you. I’m also applying to Whitman ED and only have two years of a foreign language. I switched schools the summer before my junior year and didn’t have room in my schedule with meeting all the new requirements to take a third year. When I visited SU this summer I asked them and they said unless you’re planning on majoring/continuing to study that language, it really doesn’t make a difference. Hope that helps!

Anyone know what the ED acceptance rate for Newhouse generally is? My SAT score is above the average, but my GPA is below which troubles me (but I do go to a magnet high school that’s ranked top 5 in the US every year)

@winterfell123 what is your gpa

@Winterfell I believe the acceptance rate for Newhouse for RD is about 20%. In that case, I’d say it’s probably 30-40% for ED.

Yeah that does help! Thank you and best of luck to you!

@dreamingofcuse96

GPA is 3.6 (which is low for Newhouse, from stats I’ve seen in the past) but I’m hoping they take into consideration how challenging my school is. My SAT is a 2390 (1600 CR + M) so I’m hoping they look at that more than my GPA haha

@Winterfell

Honestly, I think you’ll get into Newhouse with that insane SAT score.

@xCossack Thanks!

@winterfell123 Your gpa honestly isn’t that low! Plus your scores are amazing and you’re applying ED. You’re starting to make me worried about getting in at all with your stats
