Hi! I'm super anxious about the impending ED acceptance/[hopefully no] rejection letters =] Anyone who applied ED, or in general, feeling the same way?
I applied dual enrollment Newhouse/College of Arts and Sciences btw.

yes, my d is also anxious. any idea of when emails will start to go out.

SU traditionally does not wait until the actual deadline…fyi…if I had to guess, I would say Friday, Dec 11th at 6:00 pm…purely a guess though…

PLEASE make sure to post stats and, especially for Syracuse, which school you applied to and if it was your first/second choice school…thank you!!

Good luck to everyone!

Good, I’m not alone in my parania.

Thanks rodney and House of London! I really appreciate the time thing I’ve been wondering about when I should check. And I’ll be sure to post my stats

my ds is waiting too and submitted app and other requirements by original deadline of 11/1. anxious and hopeful. been checking website, just in case.

Good luck to all!

i’m applying too. From what i heard, Syracuse goes soft on the kids who apply ED. Especially since i applied for a double major in the school of human ecology/Child and Family Studies(apparently the easiest school to get into on campus), and psychology at CAS. I’m confident enought to say im in! :)

^^kingsta: how did you note that on your app considering that’s not one of the standard dual enrollments at SU? (happen to like your choice though!!)

edit: please tell me you didn’t apply ED to both SU and American? you have a thread from 10/1/09 re: ED to American?

gl kingsta! if i don’t get into Newhouse I’m pretty confident about getting into CAS too. But i’ll be pretty upset…we’ll see next Friday.
and i meant paranioa

im very anxious as well. i applied ed for sport management.

i applied ED for PreLaw (CAS) and i’m already so anxious…i need a decision to come like now

rodney, i actually called the school about that and they said just to check dual degree and put that i am applying to both CAS and College of Human Ecology and which majors.

& i was about to apply ED to American but after finding out about the Child and Family studies major, i automatically chose SU. I am planning on going to med school (taking a chem and bio minor) and becoming a child psychiatrist, so that major can help me out ALOT in the longway.

& shes the summer, thank you! but i should be wishing you good luck 1000x more since you’re applying to newhouse lol.

kingsta: thanks for the head’s up…what did you put for second choice though if you were able to put dual down for 1st choice? jw about strategy for my daughter next year (who is also interested in both schools for psych and child studies)

just read newspaper article that early decision applications are up double-digits at many schools, particularly in Washington DC area. Up 46% at American (went test optional for ED only as experiment) and 24% at GWU (70% from 2 yrs ago), 15% William & Mary, 10% John Hopkiins.

similar reports in other articles for Duke (33%) and Stanford.

Wonder if same trend at SU?

aaah Kingsta thanks a bunch! How sad is it that I’ve begun counting down hours to relax? lol

I’m not too fond of that trend at Duke since my best friend applied ED there.

I also applied ED for sport management…very selective as they only accept 50 kids (give or take a few) per class. They are big on the “passion for sports” and i backed that up with internships with both the Nets and Knicks this summer. Hopefully it all goes well.

bumpity bump =) three days!

This is so exciting seeing potential class mates. I can’t believe we might know by Friday! My brother applied early decision last year to Newhouse, and is a freshman there now. They were supposed to let him know on Monday, the 15th, but he found out Friday night. Hope the same goes this year. It’s even more scary for me though becaue Friday night at 6pm I’ll be on a train going up to Syracuse to visit my brother!!! It’s either going to be a great weekend, or a terrible weekend. I am applying for the Inclusive Elementary Special Education Program at SU, and I want to get in more than anything!!

Guys, I was just on the website and it said that applicants are typically notified by Jan. 1st. Does that mean they changed the date from 12/15? Maybe because of the extension for the application deadline…has that said that all along or is Jan. 1st new? Do you think there’s any chance we may still here tomorrow?

Wait WHAT.
let’s just pick a day and stick with it… come on syracuse i love you but you’re killing mee …

Admission notification begins Mid-December, 2009 . That’s what’s on the site. AGH.

Slupo51… i hope you’re rightabout tomorrow but at the same time I’m panicked. like a lot.

good luck to everyone, i really hope it works out for all of us =]
