How good is Engineering at Syracuse? Well known? Not great? Any syracuse engineers here to tell me their experiences? Its weird how admissions requirements at this school is different from any other school I've applied. How do we show interests?

L.C. Smith is a hidden gem that flys under the radar IMHO. 98% 2012 grads with jobs or grad school. Caring staff, excellent facilities, tons of research and hands on experience in a great university environment.

Hmmm. any other opinions?

Thanks ScottG for the response. I applied RD undecided to L.C Smith. I was there in June for a campus and Engineering tour and loved the place. Syracuse has the right combination of academics, athletics and school spirit I’m looking for. I don’t want to go to a Engineering program that is too geeky.
I really hope I get accepted - what do you think?

Only a student, but resume looks very solid. Good luck.

As a parent of a student who’s applied to, and is very interested in LC Smith - Syracuse, I’d appreciate knowing a current student’s perspective on how well LC Smith does to help make sure that its engineering freshmen survive to become engineering graduates, given the varying success of engineering programs in retaining their students. Any info on tutoring, class size, advising, retention rates? Thanks.

Curious @Splitrock, did your child end up attending Syracuse’s engineering school? If so do you recommend it?
