Syracuse Financial Aid. Is this right?

i was just today accepted to syracuse university, but when i viewed my account online, it says that my total financial aid on the bill estimater was $0. I definitly need, and qualify, for financial aid and i have recieved aid awards from other schools. Is this just because they havent figured it out yet or are they really telling me that i qualify for 0 aid, including loans. has anyone had any experince on this?

Give the Syracuse finaid office a call first thing Monday morning…and ask them. They will be able to tell you the status of your financial aid.

Koven, if you were just accepted, perhaps the financial aid office isn’t finished with your FA package. Are you a transfer student? If you’re a freshman, were you on the waitlist?

My guess is that they haven’t posted your aid yet. Agree with thumper, give them a call!

I am a transfer student. i hope you guys are right. it just seems weird that it would just say $0.

koven, as you probably know, returning students and transfers have their FA packaged after all the freshmen. My D’s school still says 0 even though she’s a returning student and we filed FAFSA in January. I was a transfer to SU (back in the dino days) and it took until the end of May for me to get packaged then…some things never change! Their priority has to be getting the freshmen done in advance of May 1st! Btw, I got decent grants and scholarships from SU as a transfer and hope the same for you!

My guess is that your aid package is missing something - did they send you any emails asking for additional info? Did you make their ridiculously early FAFSA deadline of Feb 2? Who has a FAFSA Deadline of Feb 2 when the rest of the world’s is on March 2? Syracuse does. It really can’t be zero unless, as others have said, they’re still calculating it or something is missing. Just in case for some crazy reason it is zero, you can always appeal - look on their site for financial aid appeals process, but do it ASAP.
