Syracuse for pre-med, rank applicants ?

Has anyone looked into Syracuse University for pre-med or currently attending ? Great school, but their acceptance rates aren't listed. They also rank their students in four catergories (exceptional, highly recommended, strongly recommended and recommended). You need to have a 3.7 to be exceptional and all other categories are based on research, community service, clinical etc. Seems like you would want to have the med school interpret the experience, not the undergrad. Any thoughts ?

Yeah, well, if it’s that formal and rigid a process (and I have no idea whether it is or not) I’d re-think attendance. My guess is that many schools informally rank their applicants, but a benchmark GPA required (3.65 bad while a 3.71good) seems like a major negative to me. I’d personally prefer a much more holistic ranking process.
