<p>ah. Well I mean I don't see why your daugher couldn't apply since she technically is a current student now that she's accepted the offer of admission.</p>
<p>But worse comes to worse she can be admitted after one semester which shouldn't really make any difference...or at least I hope it wouldn't because that's probably what I would do.</p>
<p>Your scholarship is not connected to honors. True, the kinds of student who get merit scholarships tend to be the kind who get into honors, but there are other, less defined requirements that have to do with ability to express yourself and things along those lines.</p>
<p>honors is totally optional--even if you're here on one of the highest scholarships you don't HAVE to participate. however, since it's at the university level (and includes archi and vpa students with very stringent program requirements), the requirements are few and far between. and with the benefits--early registration, extra advisors, monthly honors cafe lunches, use of the lounge (i could go on for hours)--it's totally worth it. also as threekids points out the capstone isn't a huge deal--if you want to do the distinction program you have to write a thesis anyway (you don't have to do two!), and if it's something you love, why wouldn't you? i would definitely recommend it.</p>
