Congratulations bsb2007! Syracuse is an amazing school! I am surprised, however, that you already know you were accepted. (Glad, though!:)) Did you go ED? I thought SU did not let anyone know until they had seen everyone and that took until March or April, at least. In any case, good for you! My D (a hs junior) is really interested in Syracuse. We visited this fall and saw their production of Urinetown and were blown away. Amazing talent and just a wonderful production, from the set to the costumes to the lighting to the direction.

NMR, I believe Syracuse has ED. Otherwise, they let everyone who applied under RD know in March at one time.

Thanks, Susan. That makes sense. As I read these postings about acceptances, I keep thinking about how, next year at this time, my D will be going through the process. It makes me wonder whether (if we can) it makes sense for my D to audition earlier (rather than later) for her top choice schools. Knowing at this time of year that you were accepted (I am thinking positive here!) to one of your top choice programs would make for a very happy holiday season. Hey -- a mother can dream, can she not? ;)

I think that if your D has a first choice school that she knows hse wants to attend, let her do ED...then if she gets in the audition process will be over and you would have saved a lotta money. If she doesn;t get in, then continue auditioning...you won't lose anything. I did ED for Syracuse because i went to the Summer College Program and absolutely loved it. I would have hated to spend thousands of dollars traveling and auditioning for different programs when i knew SU is where my heart is. Good luck to your D!!

However, very few of the BFA programs have ED. Some have EA, some have Rolling, some have none of these.

Beware of ED, last year our college admission coach that we used went through an entire discussion period to discourage any of her clients from doing it due to lessening the ability to get scholarships and other monies, basically the college knows they have you so you don't always get the most....many schools are dropping this option for any major!

im seriously thinking about going here, but because i have been accepted to this other great program i am really not sure which school would be best for me. I am coming to visit the campus again within the next two weeks, hopefully that will help me make up my mind!

My d is going for Drana , does that count. LOL

im going to be class of '11 for acting! see you all there... its going to be a blast...
